Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18, 1985, located in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was apparent from the time she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her first attempt, Felix finished second in the 200 meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished her high school year in 2003 and signed with Adidas a contract as a professional athlete. In the following year, she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. A year later Felix earned her first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting an all-time junior world record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007, she won the title by beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top 3 throughout her competitions in the Olympics that took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
